Initial ideas were drawn up based on feedback from residents, businesses and community groups and include creating better public transport links and a more pedestrian-friendly and tree-lined Station Road. The proposals also include improved lighting and community facilities as part of a comprehensive regeneration scheme which would cost in excess of £1m.
A wider consultation is now underway and residents and other stakeholders have until 12 February to have their say.
The proposals for Bamber Bridge are the first of a series of plans to improve town and village centres in the City Deal area, helping to make them more welcoming to those who want to live, work or start a business. With the funding certainty that the City Deal brings, good transport links and high quality facilities can be delivered sooner than we would otherwise be able to.
