The council will be investing up to £1million to improve conditions in the village for walkers, cyclists and buses, following the opening of the Broughton Bypass in spring 2017.
The funding for the £23.7m bypass and the improvements in Broughton has come from the Preston, South Ribble and Lancashire City Deal.
One of the conditions of planning permission for the bypass is to make improvements in Broughton along the A6 to reflect the reduction in traffic levels and encourage through-traffic to use the bypass, rather than go through the village.
The event is a follow up to the initial consultation event in March 2015, to reveal the updated plans, and artists’ impression of the proposed improvements.
People will also have the opportunity to meet representatives from HOCHTIEF (UK) Construction – the contractor recently appointed to build the Broughton Bypass.
The drop-in event takes place on Saturday 12 December, from 9.30am to 12.30pm at the Broughton & District Club, on Whittingham Lane.

Construction of the bypass is scheduled to start early 2016 and will reduce traffic along Garstang Road by up to 90%, by creating a new route from the roundabout at Junction 1 of the M55 to the A6 north of the village.
The City Deal is an agreement between the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and Preston City Council, South Ribble Borough Council and Lancashire County Council, along with central government and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).
City Deal will help to create more than 20,000 new private sector jobs and see over 17,000 new homes built across the area, along with new school places, open green spaces and new health provision to cater for the growing population.
