/ News / Event to give residents update on Enterprise Zone progress

Changes are being made to the local road network, as part of the development work for the new Enterprise Zone in Samlesbury.

To help people stay up to date with the changes, an information event is taking place at Mellor Village Hall on Tuesday 11 August, from 4pm to 7pm. Residents can drop in at any time during the event, organised by Lancashire Enterprise Partnership, to find out more about progress on the Enterprise Zone.

Construction work is currently taking place on a new entrance to the Enterprise Zone from the A59. This work is nearly complete and the entrance will open in August, with traffic lights installed at the new junction.

Work will start shortly on a second entrance to the Enterprise Zone. This is a new junction with traffic lights on Preston New Road, between KFC and Samlesbury Hall.

The work is to support plans to create thousands of new jobs at the Enterprise Zone and is also expected to benefit neighbouring residents by reducing traffic in Mellor Brook.

If you have a question about any of the changes taking place on the roads around the Enterprise Zone, contact Lancashire County Council – highways@lancashire.gov.uk.
