/ News / Lancaster named as one of England's most vibrant inner cities

New research has been published by the global information services company Experian into inner city vibrancy in England and Wales.

Lancaster was named in the top ten of Experian’s Inner City Vibrancy ranking, which analyses and compares 2001 and 2011 Census data.

They ranked each of the centres on eight key characteristics covering the housing type, tenure, economic activity and the professional status of the local population.

Just three cities in the north of England were included in the top ten – Manchester, Leeds and Lancaster.
