The Chamber lobbies for its members and the wider East Lancashire business community, engages in public-private partnerships for economic regeneration, and provides advice, support and commercial services to business, specialising in international trade, procurement, creative and digital, low carbon and professional business training.
In her business life Miranda established and ran an SME in environmental consulting for 15 years, then sold it into and was a director of a Plc. for 4 years. She has worked with business clients across sectors as wide ranging as food, chemicals, pharma, energy, waste, farming, manufacturing, FMCG, engineering, automotive and aerospace, with clients across the UK, northern, western and eastern Europe, Brazil, USA and China.
As Wigan Chamber president for a decade and Chair of the Wigan Economic Partnership, Miranda worked with the council to secure and manage £27 Million of public sector funding, creating 400 new businesses, and 600 new youth jobs.
Miranda is also a Director of Hive and Growth Lancashire, and member of Burnley Bondholders, Pendle Vision, Amazing Accrington and Chairs Ribble Valley Business Leaders andRossendale Business Leaders. Working in partnership with the businesses and the Local Authorities across East Lancashire to promote strong local economies and inward investment.
Miranda Chairs the North West’s Regional Manufacturing Forum and sits on the ESIF committee, and the LEP’s Business Support Management Board.
Miranda has lived and worked in the North West since 1989 and settled in Burnley in 2017.
Miranda is the LEP’s SME Champion.
