AMS Neve has bought a bit of Hollywood glamour to Burnley by producing some of the world’s best sound mixing and recording equipment.

The equipment it has produced is a favourite with film studios and chart-topping musicians alike and has won two Oscars, an Emmy and a Grammy. AMS Neve is just one of the many world class firms in Lancashire.
AMS Neve was founded by Mark Crabtree, OBE, who attended Burnley Grammar School, Cambridge University and did a masters degree in digital electronics at Manchester University.

He has been producing top-quality equipment in his hometown since 1976 and is a pioneer when it comes to digital sound.

The firm’s consoles are now used by recording studios such as Air and Abbey Road in London, and by Hollywood film factories like Warner Brothers and 20th Century Fox. Films such as Gravity and 12 Years A Slave have been mixed on AMS Neve kit. The firm also helped to produce the world’s first digital movie soundtrack for Titanic.

The manufacturer’s kit also has many superstar musicians who are admirers including French dance music outfit Daft Punk, Beatles producer George Martin, and Phil Collins, who recorded the iconic drum reverb on his song In the Air Tonight on its equipment.
